Sampdoria have been linked with a move for Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, according to the Express.
The Italy international has struggled to find his best form since moving to Anfield last August, scoring just four goals in twenty-five appearances in all competitions.
He is expected to leave the Merseyside club at the end of the season, and Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has thrown his hat into the ring, though he believes the former Manchester City man needs to rediscover his hunger.
He believes the 24 year old, who earns in the region of £3m a year, and in Ferrero’s opinion, he has been given too much too soon.
Balotelli has missed Liverpool’s last three games with an illness, but in his absence his side beat Newcastle United last night to move to within four points of the Champions League qualification places and they are now priced at 5/1 to finish in the top four.
